Internet2 Names Howard Pfeffer New President and CEO

Howard PfefferThe Internet2 board of trustees announced the appointment of Howard Pfeffer as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO). Pfeffer brings over 30 years of experience in networking, systems and software engineering and helped pioneer the development of broadband Internet in the cable industry. Pfeffer will replace Internet2’s current president and CEO H. David Lambert, effective June 12, 2017.


Budget Update

budget graphicThe Internet2 management team began the annual budgeting process immediately following this year’s Global Summit. The process involves confirming the path to achieve the current year’s Board approved budget, detailing the expected 2018 budget needed to achieve the strategic objectives developed through a Board process, and projecting out through the ensuing three years. Management will work with the Audit & Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees to finalize the numbers for a late July Board meeting. Final approval this year will be deferred from the July meeting to the November meeting to allow the new CEO an opportunity to fully evaluate the plan.
