InCommon Baseline Expectations Deadline December 14

A webinar on October 11 (4 pm ET) will provide information about the recently released deadline of December 14 to meet Baseline Expectations. Starting this week, InCommon will begin communicating the details about meeting the December 14 deadline, including the webinar and office hours beginning after TechEx.

Campus Success TechEx Sessions Will Provide Lessons Learned

New Grouper Version Addresses Deprovisioning

Grouper 2.4 has been released, with a new set of deprovisioning features. Read about these and other improvements, including some handy charts.

Making Federation Easier – Shibboleth Training Scheduled

DevOps, containers, installation, configuration—it can become overwhelming. This Shibboleth workshop (November 13–14) will help, with hands-on experience, a directed self-paced approach, and knowledgeable trainers.

New InCommon Participants – As of September 14, 2018, InCommon had 994 participants. Here are the new participants since the August 2018 report:

New InCommon Certificate Service Subscribers – As of September 14, 2018, 441 organizations subscribe to the InCommon Certificate Service. We last reported on this in August 2018. There has been one new subscriber since that time: University of California, Riverside.

Research & Scholarship Category (R&S) – The R&S Category includes service providers that support research and scholarly activities such as virtual organizations and campus-based collaboration services. Participating Identity Providers agree to release a small set of attributes to the category. As of September 14, there are:

94 Service Providers in the category
83 Identity Providers supporting the international REFEDS R&S category
79 Identity Providers in the legacy InCommon-only category (releasing attributes only to SPs registered by InCommon)

SIRTFI – There are 67 InCommon identity providers that have declared compliance with SIRTFI (Security Incident Response Trust Framework for Federated Identity), up from 64 in August (see the list). Compliance means agreeing to a baseline set of security practices and including a security contact in metadata. Since security contacts are required in metadata, Identity Providers are encouraged to take the extra step and self-assert SIRTFI.
